Lara Trump: ‘We are leaving nothing to chance’ this election

Republican National Committee (RNC) Co-Chair Lara Trump said election integrity is “critically important” in the current cycle and vowed to dedicate resources to leaving nothing to “chance.” .

“But when you talk about election integrity, it’s extremely important. Aside from getting votes, that’s what we’re most focused on, and of course Donald Trump himself has He will do it,” Lara Trump said Sunday on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“We ensure that nothing is left to chance in this election,” she continued. “The RNC has never had an election integrity division before. We can put all of our resources into this division if needed.”

The day before, she pointed to a fundraiser for former President Trump’s campaign in which her father-in-law was expected to raise about $50 million. Lara Trump said some of her money will help ensure poll worker training and lawyers.

“We have to understand the importance of this election, so we don’t leave anything to chance,” she said, later adding. “People aren’t on the sidelines anymore. They understand what’s at stake. This is a must-win election. And from an election integrity standpoint, we’re not going to let her RNC is focused on it like a laser.”

RNC Chairman Michael Whatley, who appeared with Lara Trump on Sunday, said the committee is working with state legislatures, election officials and secretaries of state to “get the rules of the road right.” Stated.

“If not, we will file a lawsuit. We have already filed more than 80 lawsuits in 24 states to prepare for a secure election,” he said, later adding, We want fair, accurate, secure, and transparent elections. And once we get them, we will protect the sanctity of that ballot. We want to make voting easy. , we’re going to make it harder to cheat.”

Both Whatley and Lara Trump were elected as the RNC’s new leaders last month after receiving support from the former president.

Both men have made election integrity a central focus of the RNC amid continued skepticism about accurate election results.

In a previous interview on NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday,” Whatley sidestepped questions about whether the 2020 election was stolen, shifting the discussion to ensuring election integrity.

Asked if the 2020 election was stolen, he said, “I think there was fraud. I think we saw challenges across the country. We need to preserve the integrity of our elections.”

“Like we don’t have drop boxes, we have voter ID, like absentee ballots need a witness signature, like we need a voter signature.” he continued.

When asked again whether the votes in the 2020 election were “accurately counted” or “rigged,” Whatley cited his vote for former President Trump.

“See, I was a member of the Electoral College. I proudly voted for Donald Trump, my electoral number is back,” he replied. “Joe Biden is president, and we are working now, all day, every day, to make sure we win the 2024 election.”
