Toby Keith was honored at the CMT Music Awards held at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas on Sunday.
Keith passed away on February 5th after a battle with stomach cancer. He was 62 years old.
Roger Clemens introduced a tribute to Keith, followed by a set in which Brooks & Dunn performed Keith’s classic hit “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.”

Clemens held up a red Solo cup and toasted Toby on stage, saying, “Whiskey for the men, beer for the horses.”
Sammy Hagar sang “I Love this Bar” for his longtime drinking buddy. Before he began singing, Hagar recalled the good old days with Keith.

“Toby and I spent a lot of time together in Cabo over the years,” he said. “I mean, we’ve had Cabo His Wabo closed down more times than I can remember. It’s hard to get kicked out of your own bar, but we made it through.” .”
