My favorite Masters memory is Fred Couples’ victory in 1992. That’s why I became an avid golf fan, and that’s why Freddie is still my favorite golfer.
That year, Couples defeated 49-year-old legend Raymond Floyd by two strokes. But the magic and mystique of Augusta, the way it happened with music from the CBS coverage, forever fascinated me.

I love Tiger Woods, but my favorite memory of the Masters was in 2012.
During that tournament, my dad and I were visiting friends in Sydney, Australia. As any Australian knows, you have to wake up at dawn to watch the tournament live from the Land Down Under.
I remember waking up at 4 a.m. local time to watch the beginning of the CBS broadcast, which started at 2 p.m. in the United States. Boy was it worth getting up early. A match that started with Louis Oosthuizen’s No. 2 double eagle ended with the best wedge shot anyone has ever seen.

Bubba Watson’s 50-yard hook wedge from the pine straw will forever remain in Masters legend. That shot gave him the victory over Oosthuizen in a sudden-death playoff on the 10th hole.
When you stand where Bubba took his shot at No. 10, the simple question you ask yourself is, “How?” Somehow, somehow, he made it through. That shot continues to baffle and amaze me. But my favorite part of this memory came before the tournament began.
When I arrived in Sydney on the Wednesday before the tournament, I immediately asked my Australian friend who he thought would win and he confidently predicted, “Baba!” It was a great call…almost as good as the 10th shot.

I’ll go with one of the clichés of this group and say that Tiger Woods won his fifth Masters in 2019.
I have fond memories of all of Woods’ green jackets, but something about that one from 2019 sticks with me. For the younger generation, it is my Roman Empire.
Seeing Woods’ comeback still gives me goosebumps. Needless to say, the hug with my son Charlie afterwards still melts my heart. It was a full-circle moment for the 82-time PGA Tour winner. Tiger is a big reason why I love golf, so it’s always great to see him compete and win at Augusta National.
