Star Trek Actor William Shatner used Monday’s total solar eclipse to promote climate change activism, asking “what’s the point” in being interested in space when human life is threatened? he asked.
NBC News correspondent Maura Barrett asked Shatner a leading question about climate change during a recent interview on the network’s streaming service, NBC Now.
“I asked him about people who are worried that we should be focusing on tackling climate problems on Earth rather than going out and exploring space,” Barrett said.
“Well, you can do both,” Shatner replied, adding, “You have to focus on the most important part: staying alive. I mean, what’s the point of going into space? Coming back.” We can’t do anything, we’re overwhelmed by the smoke. No, we’re in a dire situation.”
He continued: We must cleanse our environment, our curiosity, and our ambitions. ”

Shatner and NBC News aren’t the only ones using the eclipse as an opportunity to promote climate change ideology.
ABC’s scenery Co-host Sonny Hostin strangely linked climate change to both the eclipse and last week’s earthquakes in New York and New Jersey.
