A United Airlines flight bound for Seattle was forced to divert to Dallas on Friday due to a literal storm.
Redditor I blamed the dog poop on the distraction. He filmed the flight from Houston and attached the stinky photo to a dirty letter on social media platforms.United Airlines later acknowledged the incident. Go to Business Insider.
“A dog had a terrible accident in the first class aisle. The plane was diverted to DFW. Ground staff spent over two hours cleaning the carpet with paper towels,” the Redditor recalled in a post on Sunday.
“The smell made me feel sick. The gate agent kept yelling at the passengers and flight attendants. The smell never completely went away. The first class toilets were closed because the dog’s mess had clearly not been resolved. Declared unusable. The food went bad while on the ground and there were very few snacks left,” the post continued.
One commenter on the post claimed to have seen a woman and her service dog coming off the plane.
The newspaper has contacted a United representative for comment.
The airline allows dogs on domestic flights as long as they fit in a carrier under the seat where they are always present. This is explained on the United Airlines website.
Meanwhile, Reddit commenters have made it their duty to share similar awful experiences.
“I once got on a plane with a service dog (from Chicago to Allentown). It was a rough flight. As soon as the plane landed and we got to the gate and the exit door opened, the dog… “The dog knocked everyone off the plane and sat all over the jetway,” one person wrote.
The poster continued, “I was 15 minutes late getting off the plane because the plane needed cleaning.” “I would like to pay tribute to the dog who worked so hard with me.”
“I love dogs, and I like them better than humans. That being said, I think dogs should only fly on planes when their owners are traveling, and that driving is not an option. I strongly believe in it,” declared another.
“This is why dogs shouldn’t be outdoors in public. If you fly with your dog, put him in a carrier and keep him in the carrier from the moment you get to the airport until you get to your destination. I want to,” a third claimed.
This isn’t the only time animals pooping on planes has caused problems.
In February, a dog got out of its crate on a United Airlines flight and pooped on the plane, making passengers sick from the smell.
Flight attendants wearing “hazmat suits” eventually cleaned up the mess.
