Winner Comes Forward In Oregon $1.3B Powerball Jackpot, 4th Largest In History

The person who held all six winning Powerball numbers in Saturday’s $1.3 billion jackpot came forward Monday to claim his winnings, according to Oregon officials.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Plaid Pantry convenience store in the northeast part of the city, the Oregon Lottery said.

The Oregon Lottery is currently working with the winner. It was announced that safety measures and screening would take time. We will announce the winners once the contest is complete.

“Plaid Pantry is thrilled to learn that $1.3 billion in Powerball tickets have been sold at 1 of our 104 stores in Oregon,” said Plaid Pantry President and CEO, CEO Jonathan Polonsky said in a statement.

“This is an unprecedented jackpot win for the Oregon Lottery,” Oregon Lottery Director Mike Wells said in a statement. “We take every precaution to verify winners before awarding prizes.”

This is not the first winning lottery ticket sold by Plaid Pantry. Last summer, a $3.3 million Megabucks ticket was sold at a convenience store.

The Plaid Pantry store that sold Saturday’s winning ticket will receive a $100,000 bonus.

The winning numbers for Monday’s drawing were 6, 21, 23, 39, and 54. The red Powerball was 23 and the Power Play was 2X.
