Fox News legal analyst Jonathan Turley on Tuesday called for the replacement of Democratic U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor after the party once praised her as a “smart Latina.” criticized.

“It’s an amazing shift from gold standard to junk bond status, because that’s how they treat her,” Turley said. “It was just in 2009 that she was celebrated as a wise Latina. Now they treat judges as if they are completely replaceable. They all hold the levers in the courtroom. Obviously, they’re more than that, and I mean, the great thing about these commentators is that individual judges can bring something to the court, they ‘s achievement is in failing to consider that it may be about more than just voting.”
“They have reduced everything to just a vote,” he continued. “And then we have younger, more reliable liberals, and this trend has been going on for some time, until, you know, the first calls for fetal justice. If we continue to move along these lines. Age cannot be the only criterion in ideology.”
Ingraham argued that given President Joe Biden’s age and the concerns voters have already expressed on the issue, he is pushing for younger court members. Turley responded by reminding viewers of how liberals called out. demand justice A campaign has been launched to demand the resignation of former Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer.
“It also shows how the court has long been an island, able to exist outside of political fury and division. Breyer’s resignation and his legacy are in jeopardy.” “When the signs went around Washington, D.C. announcing that we were on the brink, it was a truly breathtaking moment for many of us,” Turley said.
“I teach a Supreme Court class, and I love the fact that my students come from all walks of life, but they all have a truly unending respect for the Supreme Court.” he continued. “But they don’t understand that among the many professors and even deans who call the judges hacks and demand that they be replaced with younger models. What they need is a little more longevity on the road.” His 2024 model is the only one that does.”
Although some Democratic lawmakers have expressed concern about Sotomayor’s age, party leaders have reportedly not joined in the push for the judge to retire. according to Go to NBC News. Democratic senators are not pushing the call, with some arguing instead that outside mayors should make their own choices on the issue.
