Bolton says he will write in Dick Cheney for president again this year 

Former National Security Adviser John Bolton has announced that he plans to write a second letter to former Vice President Dick Cheney as a presidential candidate in November.

His daughter, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), has emerged as a vocal critic of Trump, particularly in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. When Bolton asked her if she would support him if she ran for president, she did not close the door to that possibility.

“Well, I love Liz,” he replied. “And maybe one day she’ll get my write-in vote too. But for now, stay with her father.”

Bolton has frequently criticized Trump since leaving office.

He warned that the Russian government would celebrate if the former president was elected to a second term, and warned that the United States could leave NATO under the incoming Trump administration.
