Biden’s Fighting Inflation with Student Loan Plan

On Bloomberg’s Thursday broadcast of “Balance of Power,” Heather Boushey of the White House Council of Economic Advisers said President Joe Biden’s student loan plan would “lower student loan costs for all borrowers” to combat inflation. He said he is fighting the effects. He announced earlier in the week.

Mr. Bushey said:[T]The President has been focused on using all the tools at his disposal to ensure that costs are reduced for families. That means he will be the first president to negotiate with big drug companies over prescription drug prices. This will lower prices for seniors across the country. Of course, he’s lowering the cost of student loans for all of these borrowers. He made a big announcement earlier this week that will affect 30 million borrowers nationwide. And he’s really focused on all the other ways prices can go up. For example, all the work we’ve done across the administration to get rid of junk fees, hidden fees that we all have to deal with. So these are adding up and the president is doing his part to really address the fact that these high prices are hard on families and do everything he can to bring prices down. . ”
