The headless body of a man was found floating in Jamaica Bay on Friday night, police officials said.
According to the NYPD, the FDNY responded to a 911 call for a water rescue and rushed to the shoreline near the Joseph P. Addabbo Memorial Bridge in Queens just before 9 p.m.
When firefighters pulled the body from the water, they found it decapitated, officials told the Post.
A large number of police, including officers from the U.S. Park Police, were seen searching the beach for clues.
The identity or age of the deceased man was not immediately known.
Investigation is ongoing.
