President Biden is the winner of the Wyoming Democratic Presidential Caucus, Decision Desk Headquarters has predicted.
Biden is already the presumptive Democratic nominee, having mathematically clinched the nomination last month. His victory would add to his total at least the majority of the state’s 13 pledged delegates available to the winner.
He faced nominal opposition in the contest from author Marianne Williamson and entrepreneur Jason Palmer. Voters can also select the “uncommitted” option on their ballots, as they have done in other states.
Critics of the Biden administration’s response to the war between Israel and Hamas have rallied around efforts to pass a no-strings-attached protest vote against Biden. The initiative has had some success in other states as well, reaching 19% in Minnesota and 13% in Michigan.
He also won several delegates to the Democratic National Convention in the summer.
In the last election, Biden won the Wyoming Democratic caucus, defeating Sen. Bernie Sanders (R-Vermont) with 72% and 28% of the vote, respectively.
Still, the Cowboy State has historically voted Republican since 1964.
