Joe Biden’s “arrogant” ambassador to the UK could be “protecting” Prince Harry from deportation, a bombshell new legal application has claimed.
The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, is currently suing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for access to the royal family’s visa documents to determine whether they made false statements about their past drug use.
Prince Harry has admitted experimenting with cocaine, cannabis and psychedelic mushrooms, something he should have disclosed in his application submitted before moving to the US in 2020.
The government has warned immigrants that making misleading or false claims on government documents is grounds for deportation.
The Heritage Foundation is calling for Prince Harry’s documents to be released, saying it is in the public interest.
DHS lawyers had previously declared that releasing the documents would be an “unwarranted invasion of Prince Harry’s privacy.”
However, on March 25, Jane Hartley, the US ambassador to the UK, said: told Sky News Harry will not be expelled from the country even if he makes false statements on his documents.
“That won’t happen in a Biden administration,” she asserted.
The comments prompted the Heritage Foundation to submit a new 100-page application, accusing Mr Hartley of defending the prince, and then renewing its insistence that the visa application be made public.
“Mr Hartley spoke directly to His Royal Highness as well as to the Duke of Sussex’s current immigration status.” [Harry’s] The same applies to your future immigration status,” the application states.
Niall Gardiner, director of the Margaret Thatcher Freedom Center at the Heritage Foundation, said Hartley’s “arrogant comments about Prince Harry are an unusual intervention by a senior US diplomat in ongoing federal court litigation.” he claimed.
“The Biden administration is doing everything possible to protect Prince Harry, and if the Duke of Sussex lies on his U.S. immigration application and violates U.S. immigration law, he could be deported,” Gardiner said, according to the newspaper. It even excludes gender,” he added. Daily Mail.
District Judge Carl Nichols, who is currently presiding over the case, was recently asked to personally see Prince Harry’s visa documents to determine whether DHS is correct in claiming he is exempt from release.
Mr Hartley’s comments came after Donald Trump told British television that he could deport the prince if he returns to office in November.
President Trump declared of DHS, “We need to find out if they know anything about drugs. If he’s lying, we’re going to have to take appropriate action.”
