You can’t fix what’s broken.
Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright put on a united front to celebrate their son Cruise’s third birthday on Saturday, but things quickly turned sour when he dropped his birthday cake.
In the clip, shared on their respective Instagram Stories, Taylor and Cartwright (who was holding her son in her arms) stood side by side behind a three-tiered cake as guests sang Happy Birthday.
But as they bent down to blow out the candles, the table collapsed and the cake rolled onto the floor.
While everyone around her gasped in shock, 35-year-old Cartwright laughed off the incident. Meanwhile, Taylor, 44, looked less amused as she stared at the destroyed cake.
“There’s never a dull moment,” the mother of one captioned the video on her Instagram Story. “We just got lucky.”
In another video, several people tried to put the cake back together.

One person wrote: “It got even funnier when I realized it was Jax and Brittany.”
“The cake represents their relationship,” added another.
“That’s 100% Jax’s fault,” one person joked, while another chimed in: “Jax always messes things up.”
Cartwright and Taylor’s family fun day was just about perfect, as they posted snippets of their dinosaur-themed “Three Rex” party on their Instagram Stories on Saturday.
The party was held at a trampoline park and several children were jumping around with Cruise.
The estranged couple sometimes got their feet dirty while bouncing on the trampoline with their son.
Other snaps from Cruise’s big day showed cookies made of dinosaurs and a backdrop of balloons with a sign reading “3-REX: On The Loose.”
On Friday, the “Vanderpump Rules” alum celebrated Cruise’s actual birthday at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California.
Cartwright shared a photo of herself and her toddler eating chicken tenders and fries, writing: “Everything he likes for his birthday.”
On a February episode of the podcast “When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany,” Cartwright announced that she and Taylor had separated and were living in separate homes.
“Since Jax and I are living separately, we have decided to move to another home to give us some space for our mental health,” she said.
Cartwright, who married her ex-husband in June 2019, previously told Page Six that their lack of intimacy and his refusal to go to therapy contributed to their breakup.
