The pair played the final match sign off Last week, “King Charles,” a weekly talk show that CNN launched last year, was billed as a limited series at the time.

On the show, King and Barkley provided commentary and interviews on a wide range of issues from politics to television to music.

The prime-time show, which launched just months after CNN CEO Chris Licht was fired, has struggled to gain any meaningful foothold in the competitive cable news ratings race.

The network confirmed the show’s end in a statement Monday, saying, “As announced at its launch last fall, ‘King Charles’ is ending its limited run and is a great addition to CNN’s lineup. The richest and most diverse P2+ audience of our time.”

Mr. King is also a co-host of “CBS Mornings,” and Mr. Barkley is a leading basketball analyst for TNT, which, like CNN, is owned by Warner Bros. discovery.
