Jamie’s Air Fryer Meals review – the din of barrel-scraping is deafening | Television

I I don’t know what to say about Jamie Oliver’s new series, “Jamie’s Air Flyer Meals.” It’s brought to you by Jamie Oliver, who first appeared on screen in 1999 in The Naked Chef (no, not really). He cooks his meals in an air fryer. An air fryer is a small convection oven with a perforated basket in which you place your food and hot air circulates around it, crisping up your food without submerging it in a pot of boiling oil. I’ll make it. That is, Jamie makes a meal and puts it in a small oven to cook. Oh, and this program was created in partnership with Tefal, the company that sells Jamie-approved frying pans. The air fryer introduced in the program is from Tefal. Jamie is very impressed with the features of the air fryer. After watching his show, he might be inspired to buy.

Jamie’s latest adventure only has two episodes, and things start to feel dragged out long before the first episode ends. That said, there’s not much to say about a little oven that’s good at crisping things up and baking them slightly faster than a regular oven. “Two minutes!” Jamie yelled as he pushed another basket and headed home. “Real food made with love and consideration!” Now that I think about it, it’s a flower petal. “I love being able to bake and roast with this and make beautiful sauces!” As if pouring out the gravy from the roast joint is unique to the air fryer’s functionality, rather than the basis of most sauces. He says, as if it were. “Spinach dies in 40 seconds!” Happy days! ” His cheddar and chive scones take 12 minutes, which is just a few minutes faster than the regular method. But that’s okay! Because you can fry, boil, or steam things in ways that an air fryer can’t handle. He explains, “I could have been baking potatoes, but instead I was standing by the oven for a long time, watching the chicken roast.” I think it was stupid. No wonder it takes four days to cook a meal for the family.

He uses the word “fun” a lot. It cannot be said that it becomes more persuasive as time passes. For someone who has always made Oliver happy, he will always be that way. For those who have historically been more perplexed by his appeal, he may find him more exhausting than he remembers. All the “sweating”, “cheers”, “chilling”, “mega flavors”, “messy” pork cracklings, “epic” desserts. Really? Are you still here? Isn’t he already tired of that name calling?

It is also certainly not satisfactory for him in every respect (except perhaps financially). Since establishing himself in the late ’90s and early 2000s, Oliver has always had an eye on trends, but he’s not particularly sharp, just stubborn – something that has increasingly baffled the British public over the past two decades. During that time, his program focused on fewer and fewer things. As people get busy with work, childcare, and battling fatigue, they have less time, and as a result, movies such as “Jamie’s His 15 Minute Meals,” “Jamie’s One Pot Wonders,” “Jamie’s Easy Christmas Countdown,” “Jamie “Easy Everyday Meals” was born. Less Money – The current cost of living crisis has led to the publication of books such as Jamie Oliver: Cook Less and Jamie’s 5-Ingredient Meals. It’s probably a noble cause, but the advent of air fryers (apparently half of UK households have one) has made it harder to ignore the sound of keg scraping.

Perhaps all that matters is that the food looks great, the recipes are doable, and – Jamie’s encomia (“Perfect bite!” “I love the idea of eating something every day and making it special!”) If you believe it – it’s only delicious. . Perhaps he still finds joy in the ever-smaller circle in which he has to move. Perhaps the persistent exclamation mark may just seem forced to a jaded viewer. Perhaps he, like many of us, will not grow tired as he ages. Or maybe he’s just a little tired of this apparent bandwagon jump. Maybe he’s feeling nervous too. And maybe he’s just thanking God that he just has to get through two parts and we can relax again.
