Philadelphia police are searching for two men, one of whom was seen on dashcam footage approaching a car Friday night and pointing a gun before the driver opened fire on the suspects. .
Philadelphia police said in a press release that officers were dispatched to the 7100 block of Old York Street around 9:40 p.m. Friday in response to a report of a man shot on the freeway.
When officers arrived, they found a 31-year-old man inside the vehicle with a single gunshot wound to the chest.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Police recovered dashcam video from the vehicle, which shows a black Nissan Murano stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Old York Road and Cheltenham Avenue.
The Murano stopped for a few seconds at a traffic light, then its taillights signaled it was parked.
Then the passenger door opened and a black man got out of the car. He walked toward the victim while pointing a handgun.

As the man approached the victim’s car, he noticed the person inside had a gun, immediately backed away and fired at least two shots, then returned to the Murano.
Video showed more gunshots being fired from the victim’s vehicle as the Murano sped away.
The driver of the Murano was getting out of the vehicle before the shooting, but got back inside when his companions returned.

Police said one of the suspects is a black man wearing a black balaclava-style mask, a black zip-up jacket, a white shirt, black or gray pants and a black belt. The other suspect is described as a black man with a stocky build and thick beard, wearing a black skullcap, large glasses with black frames, a black hooded Nike jacket, gray sweatpants, black and He is said to have been wearing white sneakers.
They were last seen heading north on Old York Road toward Cheltenham Township.
Police are asking anyone who sees the two suspects not to approach them and to call 911 immediately.
