Protesters stormed the stage Tuesday morning during New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ speech, accusing him of taking money “from the wealthy” and serving the interests of lobbyists.
Adams was giving a speech about the city’s accomplishments under his administration at an event hosted by the Association for a Better New York when a group of protesters stormed the stage.

Local Law 97, also known as the New York City Green New Deal, went into effect in November 2019. Under this law, boot In 2024, limits will be placed on the amount of greenhouse gases eligible buildings can emit in order for the city to achieve a 40% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
Adams said at a news conference later in the day that he saw protesters carrying banners storm the stage but remained calm.
“No banner scares me,” Adams said of the incident.
This is the same thing that Adams faced criticism on responding to the city’s ongoing immigration crisis and low approval ratings.
A poll conducted by Quinnipiac University in December 2023 found that 28 percent of registered voters approved Fifty-eight percent disapproved of Adams’ job as mayor.
