Jason Kelce lost a very special piece of jewelry.
In the latest edition of Jason and his brother Travis Kelce’s popular podcast New Heights, the recently retired Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman revealed that he lost his coveted Super Bowl ring.
The ring commemorates the Eagles’ victory over Tom Brady’s New England Patriots in the 2018 Super Bowl. This victory marked the franchise’s first and only Super Bowl title.
Misplacing a Super Bowl ring is the last thing any NFL champion wants to do, but the way Kelce dropped it was unusual.

The Kells brothers organized the Great Long Baby Games at the University of Cincinnati. At one point during the competition, participants were asked to secure accessorized socks while diving into a pool of chili peppers. Apparently Kelce’s championship ring was in his sock.
“There was an unfortunate incident. As you all know, this game existed because I kept losing my Super Bowl ring. I don’t even know if Travis still knows this, but I… I legitimately lost my Super Bowl ring at this event,” Jason said on the latest episode of “New Heights.”

Jason added that the chili pool and everything in it was discarded.
“They couldn’t find it. … All of this stuff was thrown away. So I think my Super Bowl ring is currently in a landfill somewhere in the Cincinnati tri-state area. I definitely didn’t think that would happen. “
Travis won three titles in 11 years with the Kansas City Chiefs and didn’t hesitate when he learned of his brother’s accident.
“You’re such an idiot,” the Chiefs tight end said.
A metal detector was used at one point during the search for the ring, but Jason ultimately concluded that the ring was “officially gone.”
“The only thing I can think of is that at some point, the socks got kicked off from three sides and got out of the pool and got thrown away somehow,” the Pro Bowler said.
“But yes, the Super Bowl rings are officially gone.”

Kelce has already started the insurance claim process. It remains to be seen whether the insurance company will actually accept the claim and cover the loss.
“I think the insurance company may have something to say about whether or not they will cover it,” Jason said.
“Yes, 100%,” Travis replied. “Especially when you’re going to tell the whole world how you lost it.”

Travis later issued a warning to viewers and listeners.
“Don’t do what Jason did,” the nine-time Pro Bowl tight end said.
