Donald Trump is scheduled to return to Manhattan federal court on Thursday for the third day of jury selection in his criminal trial.
Seven jurors were selected on Tuesday, the last day of the trial.
This is the first time a former US president has been put on trial on criminal charges. The criminal charges stem from six-figure hush-money payments the former president allegedly paid to former porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal before the 2016 election.
President Trump faces 34 felonies for falsifying business records to conceal payments to Daniels and McDougal to keep them quiet about allegations that they had an affair with him. He pleaded not guilty.
The trial is expected to last about two months. If Trump is convicted, he could be sentenced to up to four years in prison.
Because this is a criminal trial, the former commander-in-chief must appear in court every day it is in session.
