Dismissed juror says Trump ‘looked less orange’ in person

One potential juror who was dismissed from former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial in New York said it was “not orange” in person.

That woman, who was interviewed MSNBC’s Yasmin Vossoin said she was fired Thursday for failing to be impartial. She told the outlet what it was like to see the former president in court.

“You know, it didn’t look like he was orange. Absolutely. Like more yellowish,” she said in the clip. Highlighted by Mediaite.

“He doesn’t seem angry…he looks bored. He seems like he wants to get done and do his thing,” she continued.

On Monday, nearly 100 potential jurors arrived in a Manhattan courtroom for Trump’s trial. More than half of them were immediately fired after raising their hands about their inability to maintain fairness and impartiality, illustrating the political polarization of the case.

After three days in court, seven New Yorkers were selected to serve as jurors in the historic case, the first criminal trial for a U.S. president, but two selected jurors were excused, leading to a jury trial Thursday at 3 p.m. (ET), the jury list was reduced to five people.

The first juror was dismissed after expressing concern that his family and friends were asking questions about his membership, even though his name was withheld. The second juror was released after prosecutors found evidence that he may have lied on the questionnaire.

Twelve jurors have been selected, with at least six alternates.

Another juror, who was removed from the high-profile trial due to work conflicts, said it was “uncomfortable” to see in person a person who “has been exaggerated in the media for years”. Ta.

“And I’m like, ‘Oh, this is just another guy.’ Plus, he sees me talking about him, which is weird,” she said. added.

The rejected juror who spoke with Vossoian said the case had an unusual atmosphere because it was a “very important” and “historic case.”

She said she and other potential jurors were shocked to learn that the case they had been selected for was the trial of a former president.

“Everyone was in shock. Everyone was frozen,” she said.
