Corey Lajoie was involved in a last-lap crash at Talladega Superspeedway, but Tyler Reddick avoided the upset and won his first NASCAR Cup Series win of the 2024 season.
The chain reaction crash started when Michael McDowell tried to stop Brad Keselowski from winning first place in the Geico 500. He came down to stop Keselowski, got on the nose of the No. 6 car, and spun sideways into the wall.

Several cars were involved in the accident, including LaJoia’s car. Somehow, LaJoie’s No. 7 got under Josh Berry’s No. 4 and ended up sideways against the wall. Riding on LaJoie’s momentum, he crossed the start and finish line, and ended up going up the right side.
“Today turned me upside down,” Rajoy told reporters.
“I did a full rotation. So I did a little left side on the ground. Then I stopped for a little bit. Then I flipped over, hit the roof, and then landed on all fours,” he explained after the race. “And the all-four hit was pretty big. I’m glad I was able to cross the start-finish line.”
