Gayle officially announced his commitment after visiting Michigan State over the weekend and attending the football program’s spring game. After Gayle entered the transfer portal, he received calls from Duke, Gonzaga, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Oregon, Syracuse, and Creighton, but Maye quickly pulled strings to bring Gayle to Ann Arbor for a visit. Ta. Gayle reportedly met Creighton before going to the University of Michigan, but he ultimately decided to join the Wolverines.
In 2023-24, Gayle was Ohio State’s third-leading scorer with 13.4 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game and 3.1 assists per game.
