Crew members injured on Eddie Murphy film in Atlanta after ‘sequence did not go as planned’

Several crew members were injured during rehearsals for Eddie Murphy’s new heist comedy, The Pickup.

“On April 20th, an accident occurred on the set of “The Pickup.” “during rehearsals for a second unit action sequence,” an Amazon MGM Studios spokesperson said in a statement with Fox News Digital.

“Unfortunately, the sequence did not go as planned and several crew members were injured as a result.”

The circumstances of the accident are not yet known. Furthermore, it is unclear who was injured, how many people were injured, and the extent of their injuries.

“We are still gathering the facts about what happened and why, but first and foremost our thoughts are with those who are recovering,” the statement continued.

“The Pickup” is currently in production in Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition to Murphy, the film also stars KeKi Palmer, Eva Longoria, Pete Davidson, Andrew Dice Clay, and Marshawn Lynch.

Tim Story, known for “Barbershop,” “Fantastic Four,” and “Shaft,” is directing the film, but the story remains a secret.

In addition to starring in the film, Murphy also serves as a producer through his Eddie Murphy Productions.

Representatives for Murphy did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
