Enhanced Games founder calls for ‘reform’ after Chinese swimmers’ PED controversy

of world anti-doping agency (Wada) announced that 23 Chinese swimmers have been allowed to compete in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics despite testing positive for banned substances.

WADA ruled that the athletes could compete because they had been “inadvertently exposed to the substance due to contamination” (as the Chinese Doping Agency initially claimed).

This isn’t the first PED scandal to hit the Olympics. This is part of the reason why Dr. Aaron D’Souza founded Enhanced Games last year.

The Enhanced Games, dubbed the “Olympics on steroids” by critics, is an upcoming Olympic-style event where the use of performance-enhancing drugs will be permitted.

D’Souza has long preached that his events are the epitome of fairness in sports because there is literally nothing to hide. He also said it would be one of the safest sporting events given the number of doctors regulating the athletes.

So after WADA handed down its ruling, D’Souza is calling for “reforms” that are “overdue.”

“For too long, the anti-doping regime has been marred by incompetence and scandal, undermining the integrity of sport and betraying the trust of athletes around the world,” D’Souza said in a statement. released on Tuesday. “We offer a dual-path future where the Olympics celebrate natural talent and the Enhanced Games safely showcase enhanced performance. This is not just an alternative, but a complementary solution. A harmonious existence of natural and hardened athletes, powered by transparent and effective drug testing and open collaboration.
