A teenage girl has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two teachers and a student were stabbed at a school in south-west Wales.
Dyfed Powys Police said they were continuing to investigate the incident after being called to Amman Valley School in Carmarthenshire at 11.20am.
Carmarthenshire Commander Supt Ross Evans said: “The emergency services were called immediately and the school was put into lockdown for the safety of everyone inside.
“Three people, two teachers and a teenage student, were taken to hospital with stab wounds. The families of all the injured have been informed.
“A teenage girl has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.
“We would like to reassure parents and the public that the incident has been closed and the students have left the school.”
Mr Evans said police were working with the school and other agencies to ensure support was available following the “very tragic incident”. He asked them to stop circulating footage of the incident on social media to avoid contempt of court and further suffering. He added that police would be on the scene within the next few days.
