Jerry Seinfeld’s ‘Unfrosted’ to feature January 6th parody

It has been revealed that a scene reminiscent of January 6, 2021 will appear in Jerry Seinfeld’s movie about the Pop-Tart breakfast snack.

A scene from the movie “Unfrosted” that revolves around breakfast was revealed in an interview with Seinfeld. GQThere he was asked some quick questions about politics and movies.

The same outlet’s Brett Martin described the scene as a very funny parody of January 6th, given Seinfeld’s history of not having any public political opinions. It was a little surprising.

He also asked the comedian about his recent visit to Israel, which reportedly took place weeks before the October 7, 2023 attack on Israelis by Hamas.

Seinfeld skipped the Jan. 6 question and answered the latter.

“Well, I’m Jewish.”

Seinfeld has responded to pro-Palestinian activists harassing him by calling him a “genocide supporter” outside an event in New York City.

“I never thought that people could look at me other than, ‘I like this comedian. I don’t like this comedian.'” Most Jews of my generation I don’t think I ever thought about anti-Semitism, but it was something different. ”

When asked if he regretted the trip, Seinfeld replied, “I don’t regret it at all.”

“I don’t preach about it. I have personal feelings about it and I discuss it privately. It’s not part of what I can do as a comedy, but my feelings are very strong. is.”

The longtime stand-up comic also revealed his belief that the film industry is in its final phase. In describing how the people he worked with on Unfrosted were “very serious,” he said they “never had any idea that the movie business was over. They had no idea.” he added.

“Movies don’t occupy the top of the social and cultural hierarchy as they have for most of our lives. When a movie is released, if it’s good, we all buy into it. “We all talked about it. We quoted lines and scenes that we liked,” he continued.

Seinfeld compared watching the movie today to “walking through a fire hose.”

When asked what would replace the film industry, he couldn’t help but give an emotional explanation.

“Depression? Boredom? I should say confusion. The film industry has been replaced by disorientation. Everyone I know who is in show business, every day they’re like, ‘What’s going on? How do we do this? ‘What should I do now?’

The Poptart movie was born out of boredom, the “Seinfeld” star recalled, saying in an interview.Good morning, AmericaHe and fellow screenwriter Spike Feresten decided to write screenplays to keep their hands free.

Seinfeld realized it was an easier process and decided to direct the movie himself.

“Rather than telling players what to do, just tell the players what to do. That was the idea. It’s still a lot of work,” he joked.

The cutting room floor for Unfrosted apparently included a story arc with Seinfeld co-star Michael Richards, who was supposed to play the main character’s father in the Poptart movie.

“I actually had him do some great things in this movie,” Seinfeld explained. “He was going to play my father. We came up with a tragic childhood story that inspired him to want to invent Pop-Tarts, and we were going to portray his death while trying to make bacon and eggs. But it didn’t survive.”
