Veterans disgusted by anti-Israel protests, flag-burning

A group of U.S. military veterans shared their disgust at the wave of anti-Israel protests spreading across college campuses.

“They are a disgrace to the United States of America. They are burning the flag and speaking against our country. Aren’t they happy here? If they’re not Americans, they should be deported like everyone else. It’s disgraceful and disgraceful,” George, a World War II veteran, said Thursday on “Fox & Friends.”

“These veterans died and were injured and everything else that allowed them to protest the United States of America and burn the flag and everything else. It’s an utter disgrace.”

Demonstrations also broke out at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Southern California on Wednesday, after protests rocked the campuses of Columbia University and Yale University.

The University of Southern California protest, dubbed “Gaza Solidarity Occupation,” began Wednesday morning and was one of many similar demonstrations taking place on college campuses across the United States.

Lt. Kelly Muniz said Wednesday night on X (formerly Twitter) that Los Angeles police arrived on campus around 4 p.m. after the agitators did not comply with the university’s request to leave the area.

After several hours of clashes between campus police and the Los Angeles Police Department, the protest ended with 93 people arrested for trespassing.

“They’re all mean, mean people. They have nothing to do with their lives other than to say things like that. It’s so disgusting,” said another veteran from Pennsylvania, about 30 miles north. Speaking to Lawrence Jones at the Eagle Diner in Warminster, County. of Philadelphia.

A similar demonstration was held at UT Austin. More than 100 protesters gathered on campus Wednesday to take part in an unruly anti-Israel demonstration.

The noisy protest drew hundreds of onlookers, some of whom joined in anti-Israel chants on the school’s south lawn.

At least 20 people were arrested.

As the protests escalated and spread to more campuses, two military veterans labeled the demonstrators “terrorists” for their support for Hamas and anti-American and anti-Israel rhetoric.

“They are terrorists… they call themselves terrorists. All of them,” one veteran said.

“I believe in the First Amendment, but there are limitations. And, in my opinion, the people protesting are terrorists,” said another, adding that this is what he is fighting for. He added that it was not for any other purpose.

University leaders, local police and state officials are trying to quell the demonstrations. Hundreds of people were arrested across U.S. campuses this week alone. Some campuses closed or moved all classes online because of the riots.

However, one military veteran suggested that the students who took part in the demonstration should be expelled from the school.

“Kids who are going to school should be expelled. [who have] People who come on foreign visas should be deported and deported. And the instigators should not only be arrested, but also prosecuted and given time,” the veteran argued.

“The only thing that will stop this is if they have to pay the price.”
