Kansas City, Missouri – Dark, brooding storm clouds filled the sky above Kansas City homes Thursday, threatening to bring heavy rain.
Jordan Frederick caught lightning striking near his house on his doorbell camera. Immediately after that, I heard a loud thunderclap.
“It sounded like a bomb went off and the house shook incredibly violently,” Frederick told FOX Weather.
Several more severe thunderstorms are expected in Kansas City over the weekend, with widespread precipitation expected to be 2 to 4 inches, with more locally expected. According to the National Weather Service, this will cause areas to experience flash flooding and river flooding.
Beyond the risk of severe weather into this weekend, the FOX Prediction Center said the pattern is likely to continue leading to severe storms as the calendar turns to May starting next week.
