Aubrey O’Day, a member of the pop group Danity Kane, was arrested after rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs tried to keep her silent when he handed back the publishing rights to her and other former bad boys. – Claims to have forced non-disclosure agreements on artists… According to her, in the end, it’s worth more than nothing in the end.
TMZ report O’Day, who was signed to Bad Boy Records in the 2000s, acknowledged that Puff gave all of his older artists the rights to their music. This seemingly generous move came with a number of conditions attached.
Behind the scenes, Diddy has claimed that he wanted artists to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) as part of their contracts, so that he would have no access to both his experience with Bad Boy and his negotiations with the artists themselves. They say they will no longer be able to talk about it. The outlet continued:
Aubrey says she didn’t want to do that…because she felt the sign would take away her ability to speak. She said that her abilities are incredibly valuable to her right now, especially given everything she’s been accused of by Cassie and others against Diddy. Because I feel it. he is denied. BTW…Aubrey is the first and only person to publicly sound the alarm over the years.
There’s also this… Aubrey says the amount it cost her to get her publishing rights back was incredibly low.
O’Day spoke to TMZ as part of “The Fall of Diddy,” which examines the fallout from the attack on Diddy’s home and the ensuing federal investigation.
She offered some insight during her appearance, including a claim that Puff knew what was going on in September when they gave all the older artists the rights to their music.
