NASCAR driver Ryan Sieg’s car bursts into flames during race at Dover

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Ryan Sieg was involved in a frightening incident Saturday at Dover International Speedway during the A-Game 200.

Sieg stopped at Turn 2 on lap 28 due to a fire starting under the hood. He parked his car near the apron and was able to escape from the burning car.

“It’s okay,” he said. fox sports after that. “There was a lot of smoke. I had no idea what was going on, and then all of a sudden there was a fire. … We were in a pretty good car, at least that’s what I thought, but… I just got on there and waited for everyone to figure it out. It just sucked.”

Zeke placed 37th in the race, one spot ahead of JJ Yeley.

Ryan Truex finished ahead of Carson Kvapil and won the race. Sam Mayer, Sheldon Creed and Cole Custer rounded out the top five. AJ Allmendinger, Chandler Smith, Kyle Weatherman, Anthony Alfredo and Parker Retzlaff rounded out the top 10.

He is the younger brother of NASCAR Cup Series star Martin Truex Jr.

Justin Allgaier won stage one and Custer won stage two.

Smith leads Custer by one point in the drivers’ standings. Austin Hill placed third, with Jesse Love and Allgaier placing fourth and fifth, respectively.
