The Oakland Athletics’ stadium in Las Vegas will cost an estimated $1.5 billion, and the team is looking to secure about a third of that money from another company.
The organization has reportedly hired Galatioto Sports Partners, an investment firm specializing in sports finance, to help raise $500 million to build the stadium.
Nevada taxpayers are paying about $380 million for the stadium, which is scheduled to open by 2028, a year later than the Athletics had originally hoped.

According to the LA Times, the reported deal will see investors in the company own a minority stake in the franchise. According to the company’s website, he has helped negotiate contracts with other MLB, NFL, and NBA teams.

The stadium will be built on nine acres of a 35-acre property owned by Bally’s at the corner of Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard. The Tropicana Resort in its place is scheduled to be demolished to make room for a stadium and hotel.
