NYPD release video showing professional ‘protest consultant’ at Columbia University

The New York City Police Department has released a video showing a professional “protest consultant” seen in other social media videos directing the mob of anti-Israel agitators who occupied Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall on Monday night.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams spoke about the outside agitators at a news conference Tuesday night.

“What was supposed to be a peaceful protest was essentially exploited by outside professional agitators. Our goal is to ensure the safety of students and faculty without destroying property. Because of that, we were very cautious about releasing information,” Adams said. “We have sounded the alarm on several occasions about outside actors attempting to hijack this private protest.”

Adams and members of his administration shared information about outside actors posing a “significant public safety issue” at the protests.

“These outside parties are clearly not students, and their presence on campus violates Columbia University’s clearly established policies,” Adams said. “This group…is an outside agitator with a history of trying to escalate the situation and cause chaos. We believe they are now actively taking advantage of what should have been a peaceful gathering. They do this to serve their own purposes. They do not create discord and division in order to promote peace and unity, or to peacefully express their views. I’m here for. ”

The mayor called on those involved to leave “now.”

At a press conference, police said some of the outside agitators have been known to the NYPD for years, and that they are witnessing an escalation in tactics that police believe are the result of guidance from outside agitators. added.

“Some of the people involved are paid,” Stoll wrote in a recent Wall Street Journal article, noting that these organizations pay fellows $3,000 to work eight hours a week on campus for three months. He explained that he was talking about how the company was promoting the offer of rewards. “Some of the people who have been very visible in these protests across the United States have received hundreds of thousands of dollars as fellows from the Soros Open Society Foundations and the Rockefeller Brothers Foundation.

“So there’s a lot of money behind these protests,” Stoll added.

He also noted that many of the people participating in anti-Israel protests on campuses such as Columbia University are not just anti-Trump protests, but also people participating in Black Lives Matter protests. He also talked about being the same people.

“It’s the same people who are protesting. I’ve seen them,” Stoll said. “They just like to protest.”
He likened it to people going out on the weekends to play sports or go to religious services.

“This is a movement for these people, and they are not going to stop until the revolution is achieved or until they are put in prison,” he said.
