Biden Admin Reportedly Hatching Plan To Bring Gaza Refugees To US

President Joe Biden’s administration is reportedly considering a plan to transfer several refugees from Gaza to the United States, according to internal federal documents obtained by CBS News.

Biden officials are considering relocating some Palestinian refugees from Gaza to the United States if they have immediate family members who are American citizens or permanent residents. according to Go to CBS News. Those who qualify for U.S. refugee status are reportedly eligible for several benefits, including permanent residency, housing assistance, and a potential path to U.S. citizenship.

One plan reportedly being considered is to establish a U.S. refugee admissions program that would bring Gazan refugees to the United States if they have “connections” to the state. If the Biden administration decides on a plan, implementing such items would require coordination with Egypt, CBS News reported.

To be recognized as a refugee in the United States, an individual must be able to prove that they are seeking refuge based on persecution for their nationality, religion, or political views, CBS News reported.

Following Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, which killed approximately 1,200 civilians, the president and his administration pledged support to the country in its fight against the terrorist organization. Despite Biden’s support for Israel, the president faces pushback from within his own administration and campaign. A senior official at the Biden administration’s Education Department resigned in January over the president’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war. A coalition of anonymous presidential campaign staffers reportedly petitioned the president, claiming he was complicit in genocide and calling for an end to unconditional military aid to Israel.

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators are currently gathering on college campuses across the United States to protest the conflict between Israel and Hamas and Biden’s handling of the war.
