On Tuesday’s MSNBC “Morning Joe” broadcast, co-host Mika Brzezinski said it was “exactly like January 6th” when Columbia University students broke into campus buildings overnight. Stated. Meanwhile, Brzezinski’s co-host Joe Scarborough said those who were understandably offended by January 6th and Charlottesville were ambivalent about the chaos on campus. Ta.
Scarborough said, “So what did it look like when those kids were breaking the window?”
Brzezinski responded, “It was like January 6th. It was exactly like January 6th. So I think students have quite a role model in MAGA Republicans.”
Later in the segment, Scarborough said:[A]After Charlottesville, people said, “No, no, there are good people on both sides,” and there was universal condemnation. Here, chants stretch from river to sea, people talk about genocide and hold placards that speak of a final solution. Let me say, “Yes, I understand that. But look, there are good people on both sides. Ignoring the genocidal hatred of Jews, these I’m getting a lot of correspondence from people saying, ‘Hey, look at this.’ other people and what they are trying to do. What’s interesting is that they want university administrators and Jewish students to screen out genocide chants when they go to class and be okay because it’s part of a larger purpose. It is. And like Micah said, I’ll say it too…it was a lot like January 6th. It was a match, a set, a match for most people, for us and also for the people in the center and a lot of people on the left. Some now seem to be celebrating this not just as an act of vandalism or criminality, but as an act of civil disobedience. …And all of a sudden, people who were very angry about January 6th are now, understandably, very angry about what Donald Trump said after Charlottesville, and rightfully so. While saying, yes, yes, but this is complicated. …No, it’s true, it’s just not complicated. …And I don’t think administrators should say, “Yeah, but let’s sort this out. Maybe the crime isn’t so bad, maybe the end justifies the means.” No, it didn’t happen on January 6th. It’s not done here either. ”
