Jalen Brunson, Knicks close out thrilling Game 6 to clinch series over 76ers

PHILADELPHIA – Josh Hart is here.

The team’s guts and tenacity man was left wide open on the perimeter and for the Knicks’ biggest shot of the night.

After a pass from Jalen Brunson, he hesitated for a moment but sank the game-winning 3-pointer with 24 seconds left to eliminate the Sixers in a 118-115 victory Thursday at Wells Fargo Center.

New York’s next opponent in the second round will be the sixth-seeded Pacers, who eliminated the third-seeded Bucks in six games.

They’re trading Tyrese (Maxey) for another Tyrese (Halliburton).

The first leg will be played at MSG on Monday.

The close, hard-fought Knicks-Sixers series was tied before Hart’s clutch trey and ended in the final seconds.

Up by three points, the Knicks still needed to make free throws, but another rising star duo, Brunson and Donte DiVincenzo, converted four straight downs with 11 seconds left.

Two days after the point guard failed to perform in crunch time, Brunson was phenomenal when it mattered most.

He finished with 41 points and led the Knicks in the final 6:30.
