‘Paper Mario’ game removes cat-calling dialogue for remake

Nintendo’s latest remake of the Mario game faced the ax of censorship in one of its opening scenes, changing dialogue deemed too offensive for woke audiences.

Paper Mario Thousand Year Door was first released in 2004, but it appears the developers realized that some of the original dialogue didn’t pass the wake test for the game’s 2024 reboot.

In one of the game’s opening scenes, the paper character encounters Goomba, a classic Mario enemy, as a way to set up a tutorial.as border to comics Reportedly, in the original version of the game, one of the enemies said, “Hey, hey, what’s going on? Who’s that hot guy you were with?”

Then the second villain said, “Wassup, baby? Would you like to spend some time with us? We’re having a really good time!”

Hey, what’s a fine-looking Goomba doing with a guy with that fat mustache?!?” said a third person. Goomba.

The female character then says, “Oh, it’s so sweet of you guys to think I’m cute! Seriously! Yeah, when I see people like you, I feel… totally pissed off!” Now, don’t get in our way!” he replied.

The original scene will be displayed play framewith narration by the host.

Even though the female characters were fed up with the advances of the comic book villains, that didn’t stop the dialogue from being completely changed in new releases of the game.

First look at the renewed version CG Magazine revealed that the conversation moved away from any kind of aggressive flirting from the characters, and instead decided to bully Mario.

“Hey! Hey, hey! What’s up? You think it’s cool to waltz into our underground?” says the first Goomba, clearly not referring to the female characters.

The second enemy, again, did not mention the girl and insisted on calling the characters snobs.

“Typical! The ground-level snobs are so adamant: ‘Oh, I get to see the sun! I like to breathe clean air! Oooh!'”

The third villain no longer calls Mario “fat”.

“Huh! That’s right! Come here, you dirty bearded man. I’ll teach you some manners…”

Instead of refusing their invitation, the female character says, “Please leave.” [Mario] “Alone” and mocks his enemies for living in a “stinky” place.

The only constant line in this sequence was one of the enemies’ response, “Oh, that was cold!”

However, the line “What, you’re too good for us?” has been changed to “What, are you too strong for a fight?!”

Nintendo has yet to publicly comment on the new dialogue. However, it is common for games to be changed before they are fully released. The remake version of “Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door” is scheduled to be released on May 23, 2024.
