Louisiana governor knocks Mick Jagger over ‘stone age’ crack

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry (R) on Thursday night after the Rolling Stones frontman disavowed Mick Jagger’s policies during Thursday’s performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. , criticized Mick Jagger.

“We’re a welcoming people, right?” Jagger told the crowd. NBC local bureau. “I hope Mr. Landry enjoys the show. He’s really inclusive. He’s trying to take us back to the Stone Age.”

Landry supports restrictive abortion bans and supports various bills targeting the LGBTQ community. He replied to Jagger: casual post on social platform X, using the frontman’s own lyrics.

“You can’t always get what you want,” Landry said.

“The only person who might remember the Stone Age is @MickJagger,” Landry posted. “I love you and you are always welcome in Louisiana!”

Jagger is 80 years old and has been performing with the Rolling Stones for more than 60 years.

Former Louisiana Attorney General Landry won the gubernatorial election last October with support from former President Trump. He is the first Republican to hold the state’s highest office since 2016.
