Yankees’ Aaron Judge gets ejected for first time in career after ‘bulls–t’ call

For the first time in a generation, the New York Yankees captain was ejected from a game.

Aaron Judge spiked the ball in the bottom of the seventh inning of Saturday’s Yankees-Tigers game after claiming a called strike three.

This was Judge’s first ejection since entering the big leagues in 2016, considering no player in baseball has been hit with more balls below the zone, called strikes, against Judge since his MLB debut. is quite impressive. (He also has the fourth-most records outside the zone.)

The judge called a strike on a borderline pitch on the outside corner. Visibly upset by the call, he exchanged words with home plate umpire Ryan Brackney.

The Yankees outfielder headed to the dugout, but Cole appeared to say, “Bulls,” and that’s when Brackney threw him.

Manager Aaron Boone, who has had the most ejections since taking over in 2018, came out of the dugout to discuss ejections just as the judges returned to their arguments.

Brackney apparently replied to the judge: “You wouldn’t say it was a bull.”

During his next at-bat, the Yankees crowd chanted, “Ugh, that sucks.” Trent Grisham took over in center field.

See the X moment

Derek Jeter, the Yankees’ last captain, was never ejected during his 20-year career, and Saturday will be the first time a Bronx Bombers captain has been ejected.

At the time of his ejection, the Yankees were beating Detroit 5-3, and Judge was 2-for-4 with an RBI double.

This was the most lively thing the judges have seen in a while (though whether it still merited an ejection may be debatable). Maybe he’s a little angry about his slow start. When the day started, Judge was hitting .200.
