One of the biggest misconceptions is that fantasy baseball That means you can’t find quality players on a bad team.
I often see it more prevalent in the world of closers, but it also rears its ugly head when talking about offensive players who stick with bottom-feeding clubs. The White Sox, Athletics, Rockies, Marlins, and Nationals are the worst five teams, but if you look closely, you can still find some diamonds in the rough.
As many can attest, the stolen base category continues to be an important element for most fantasy baseball leagues. The most important thing is to contain it now as much as possible. This is not only to secure its position in the league table, but also in future trade negotiations.
Nationals center fielder Jacob Young has six steals in the past six games and is still available in more than 85 percent of leagues on ESPN and Yahoo.
Young was never at the forefront of managers’ minds as the Nationals continued to lose games and had a minus-16 goal differential.

But with Lane Thomas on injured reserve, Young has a lot of opportunities, and he’s making the most of them.
Even with Thomas’ return on the horizon and the likely promotion of prospect James Wood, Young is expected to remain in the lineup thanks to his glove and outfield coverage.
The Nationals have no reason to sit the upstart 24-year-old or let him play base. The stealing continues.
As we see the decline of veteran third basemen like Nolan Arenado and Alex Bregman, the Athletics may want to keep an eye on 26-year-old Tyler Nevin, who is currently holding off on Brent Rooker in 2023.
Nevin was given the opportunity to play every day and did not disappoint, getting full-time at-bats between third base and the outfield.
Do you want to bet on baseball?
Nevin was on a nine-game hitting streak heading into Friday, and had multiple hits in each of his past four games. During that period, he had a batting average of .389, four home runs, seven RBIs, and one stolen base.
Once J.D. Davis returns from the injured list, the Athletics will likely use both him and Nevin at corner, but the latter could also be expected to play outfield and DH.
He is currently listed in less than 10% of leagues, so check the waiver wire.
If you’re looking for an edge this season, you need to be the Garth Brooks of fantasy baseball and praise your friends down low.
Young and Nevin have just scratched the surface. It doesn’t necessarily matter who becomes the stallion for the rest of the process. You need to mix in players who are currently at stud, even if you are playing for a team at the bottom of the table.
