Emily Blunt is ready to kiss and tell.
The British actress spoke candidly about how chemistry with her co-stars doesn’t always equate to liking.
“I’ve never had chemistry with people I didn’t like, at all,” she said.The Howard Stern Show.”

“Who?” Stern asked.
“I’m not going to tell you,” Brandt replied. Blunt, who has worked in the film industry for more than 20 years, has starred opposite many big names, including Tom Cruise in The Edge of Tomorrow, Colin Firth in Arthur Newman, and Matt Damon in The Adjustment Bureau. “I had some chemistry with them, but I just didn’t have a good time working with them,” she added, without disclosing their identities.
“Sometimes it’s a strange thing. Sometimes you can really, really like someone, and you can be friends, and you can build that trust very easily. But it doesn’t come across on screen. No, chemistry is a mysterious thing. You can’t really bottle it up and buy or sell it, it’s either there or it’s not.”

But Brandt said the chemistry is “manufacturable” to some extent. “It’s easy to form a natural relationship with someone,” she explained. “My feeling is you have to find something you like about everyone. You have to find something…even if it’s one thing,” she emphasized.
“Maybe they have a nice laugh…or I like the way they talk to people. They’re polite,” she gave as an example. “I mean, it might be random, but find what you like about that person or what you like about that character… and lean into that.”

“Have you ever had to kiss someone on screen and you almost threw up? It was so bad,” Stern asked.
“Absolutely, never,” Brandt confessed.
Mr. Stern dug deeper and asked, “Do you go home and take a shower and try to put that out of your mind? I can’t imagine.”
“I can’t say it’s an extreme dislike,” she said with a short laugh. “But there were definitely parts of it that I didn’t enjoy.”

Blunt’s latest co-star is Ryan Gosling, with whom he co-stars in the new film The Fall Guy. Blunt said of Gosling that she felt he was “very lucky to be friends with such an amazing person.”
