A lovestruck New York man who posted a “girlfriend wanted” flyer 10 years ago has taken action again.
Dan Perino, 60, first gained public attention in 2014 when he plastered posters around town hoping to land film and TV roles.
The ad advertised him as a “professional, experienced actor looking for a few line roles in film, television and theater.” Even if it’s extra work. ”

The aspiring actor claims that the ad was so successful that he decided to use the same tactic to find the leading lady.
The East Village actor put up about 40,000 posters begging for a date. “Looking for a girlfriend,” the flyer said, along with a photo of a bearded man and a phone number.

The single man said he became overwhelmed with phone calls (many of which he admitted were pranks) and dates, and eventually stopped because he started getting noticed on the street.
“I didn’t really need to do that anymore,” he told the Post.
Although he never found a lover, he turned his adventures into a documentary and a book, both titled “Looking for a Girlfriend.”
Perino tried online dating, but eventually got tired of it and wanted to be flooded with phone calls.

“I went on a lot of dates last year, and this system is great,” Perino said.
And this time, Perino isn’t just “looking for a girlfriend,” he’s “looking for the perfect woman.” He had a hard time defining the woman other than being young, attractive, and “not a stalker.”
Perino claimed that she received about 2,000 calls and thousands of text messages in the first two days alone, and that she began wearing a disguise when leaving the house to avoid being stopped frequently.
This single person was overwhelmed by all the responses and couldn’t choose a date, but he plans to sit down and narrow down his options soon.
“It’s fun,” he told the Post.
