alex stein He was lucky enough to score an interview with wild Joe Exotic from prison. And it did not disappoint.
However, this is not his first interview as Exotic takes his reporting seriously. In doing so, he learned a little about his nemesis Carole Baskin.
“I did an interview with a news station in Tampa, and right before they interviewed me, they interviewed Carol, and she’s even going on TV now to say that Netflix took advantage of the feud that we had going on. ” Exotic tells Stein.
According to Exotic, Baskin told the news outlet that the two had “never met” and that “the feud wasn’t as bad as Netflix made it out to be.”
Exotic went on to tell Stein that a double agent named Ashley was working at his park and had gone undercover for Carol.
“She was the one who testified about Carol at my trial, but she couldn’t testify because the police wouldn’t accept that she was lying. But yeah, she… is Carol’s informant,” Exotic says.
As Stein was preparing for the interview, he struck up a conversation with Howard Baskin. Baskin told Stein that there are “no hard feelings” between the exotic and Stein, but she still thinks “he’s a liar.”
“It would be really great if just one interview media expert actually challenged all of Joe’s lies instead of just nodding his head and shutting him up,” Howard wrote.
“I don’t know what Howard wants me to admit. I admitted to shooting the Tigers. I don’t know what else to admit. But I paid Allen to go kill Carroll. “I didn’t pay that much,” Exotic said.
“Well, I appreciate that,” Stein says. “That’s why I have your back.”
Exotic has a message for old friends.
“But what I want them to understand is that in order to move forward, I need to understand that I’m a human being, that my parents died, that I’m not going to have any more animals, and that I have to end it.” But it doesn’t have to end for them to continue living free, and Joseph ends up serving a 21-year prison sentence for something he didn’t do. ” he told Stein.
“I think that’s fair,” Stein says.
