President Biden’s re-election campaign has released a new ad criticizing former President Donald Trump for threatening to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
This is a 30 second ad titled “.”end” touts that Biden has defended and worked to expand the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. The ad will air on TV and digital in battleground states and is part of the Biden campaign’s $14 million ad buy in May targeting Black, Latino and Asian Americans.
“Obamacare is a disaster. We want to end it,” President Trump said in a clip included in the ad.
“President Biden kept the Affordable Care Act and cut millions of people’s health care costs by $800 a year. Now he will make those savings permanent,” the ad reads.
It also includes a clip of Biden referring to Trump and saying, “Guys, he’s here to take care of your health, and we’re not going to allow that.”
President Trump has vowed to replace Obamacare with his alternative. The Biden campaign also ran ads around the anniversary of the law’s passage in March to highlight President Trump’s repeated threats to repeal it.
“Trump pursued the hard-earned health care Americans earned. Voters want leaders who will protect and strengthen health care, not try to take it away. That’s why they chose Biden this November. We intend to send the President and Vice President Harris back to the White House,” Biden campaign official Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a statement.
