The identity of the teenager who was gunned down in broad daylight by a gunman on a Citi Bike outside a trendy Soho hotel has been revealed.
Marki Brown, 16, was shot in the head and killed just before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday across from the Dominick Hotel on Spring Street, police said.
The boy, who lived in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police added.
A shooting incident across the street from Chelsea Career Technical Education High School may be school-related, police officials said.
The slain boy, who was shot twice in the leg, was a student at nearby Broome Street Academy Charter High School, sources said.
It was not immediately clear whether Brown was the intended target, but officials said the shooting may have occurred after an altercation between two groups of girls earlier in the day.
Police say no arrests have been made yet.
Immediately after the shooting, a wounded Brown collapsed in an alley next to the Dominick Hotel, horrified witnesses said.
“I felt nauseous,” Justo Cruz, a security guard who works in the area, told the Post.
“He was just lying there, looking unconscious. I could see blood on his shirt, but I didn’t look. There was nothing good about it. It was a person on the floor. It was a movie. It was like.”
“No matter how nice a place is or something like that, you always have to be on high alert in a sense,” Cruz added. “Soho – Good atmosphere, good energy, very diverse. In a great area you can’t expect certain things. ”

Meanwhile, a nearby parking lot worker said he heard at least two gunshots and fled.
“I was protecting myself because I didn’t know where the noise was coming from,” he said. “Everyone was running, so I ran too.”
