Moment for Mike Johnson Removal May Come Soon but Not Now

Former President Donald Trump issued a statement regarding Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) motion to vacate her position as Speaker of the House, saying, “Now is not the time.”

in post President Trump praised Greene’s “spirit” and “fight” on “Society of Truth,” saying she would “be around” for a while and that “someday” House Republicans might be in a position to introduce the motion. He added that he would like to leave, but “now is not the time.”

“I love Marjorie Taylor Greene with all my heart,” Trump wrote. “She has spirit, she has fight, and I believe she will always be here and by our side. But now the Republicans have to fight the radical left Democrats, and they We have to fight against all the damage that has done to our country. With a majority of 1 and soon increasing to 3 or 4, we are not in a position to vote for a motion to resign, although that may happen one day. Now is not the time.”

Greene filed a motion to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) from his position. This came after Greene had been warning Johnson for months to stop working with Democrats.

Prime Minister Johnson proposed a $95 billion foreign aid package in April. The foreign aid package includes $61 billion for Ukraine, about $26 billion for Israel, $9 billion for humanitarian aid in Gaza, foreign aid for Taiwan and efforts to counter the Chinese threat in the Indo-Pacific. It consists of 8 billion dollars.

At a May 1 press conference, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) revealed “three betrayals” committed by Mr. Johnson that led to Mr. Greene and Mr. Massey removing Mr. Johnson from the speakership. I decided to lead the vote to remove it from the list.

The three betrayals were the passage of a $1.7 billion, 4,155-page omnibus spending bill, the passage of HR7888, the Intelligence Reform and American Security Act (RISAA), which reauthorized Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), and Johnson’s plan to pass a $95 billion foreign aid package disguised as two separate bills rolled into one.

Trump went on to add that Johnson is a “very hard-working, good guy.”

Trump added: “I wish some things had been done in the last two months, but we will get it done together.” “We ask all Republicans to vote for the Motion to the Table. We can win big – and it will happen soon!”

The vote was 359-43, with seven House members present for the vote.

Eleven Republicans voted against Greene’s motion to resign.
