MTG’s Motion Stuck Down Like ‘Kristi Noem Taking a Shotgun to Cricket’s Head’

CNN host Jake Tapper spoke on his show “The Lead” Wednesday about Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) calling for the removal of House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana). The motion said Gov. Kristi Noem (R-South Dakota) was killed like her dog Cricket. , referring to Noem’s new book, “No Going Back,” in which the governor tells how he shot and killed his 14-month-old dog.

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) discussed the vote called by Greene, saying, “This whole episode, her little tantrum, is ridiculous and does nothing to advance the conservative movement.” All it will do is weaken the House Republican majority, which the American people elected for people who complain about the fact that border security is not being done, but this is what they want. The result is an inability to function as a council or as a team delivering policy. The speaker has the most influence in negotiations.

Cut to the House floor and Tapper said, “Let’s go.”

After the motion failed, Tapper said: The motion proposed by Congressman Steve Scalise is essentially Kristi Noem holding a shotgun to Cricket’s head. It’s the death of that effort. ”

he asked: “Why do you think she moved now to move to withdraw, given that she has spent hours and hours and hours with Speaker Johnson this weekend trying to talk to her?” And clearly they We agree on a lot of issues, but you know, it’s just that his majority is very thin because, again, some people aren’t serious about governing and actually getting things done. ”

Lawler said, “They would rather just throw a tantrum and get attention by claiming it’s part of the problem in Congress. There’s more intrigue on both sides of the aisle than the hard work of actually governing.” There are members of Congress who are interested in arguments and crazy political maneuvering.
