Eclipse CEO steps back amid harassment allegations – The Block

Eclipse CEO Neel Somani said in an X post Thursday that the company will “reduce its role” in Layer 2 projects, shortly after sexual harassment allegations against him resurfaced.

But that doesn’t mean he won’t continue to be hands-on with Eclipse. “I never stepped back from my role,” Somani told The Block, hours after posting about his reduced role on social media.

Somani, who founded Eclipse in 2022, told The Block in a series of private messages about X that he is “still serving” as CEO and has no plans to step down.

“I continue to play an active role as CEO and will continue to do so,” Somani said. “Temporarily, I have no plans to appear on any podcasts or panels.”

The executive vowed to minimize public involvement in Eclipse. post On Thursday, he denied the sexual harassment allegations. His comments came about a day after allegations of sexual misconduct swirled around the Layer 2 founder’s X.

Meanwhile, Eclipse said in a post to X that it will share background and details about Eclipse’s senior leadership in the coming days.

“At Eclipse, our mission has always been to bridge the gap between Ethereum and Solana and build a truly novel, high-performance blockchain for the future of the crypto industry,” the company said. . “We remain committed to this vision, our supporters and the broader ecosystem/community.”
