Luka Doncic froze when his press conference was interrupted by what sounded like sex noises after Game 2 of the second round of the Mavericks-Thunder playoff series.
The Mavericks’ All-NBA guard stopped speaking mid-way through describing the team’s energy and rolled his eyes at the unexpected moment.
It sounded like a high-pitched female moan for a few seconds, then it stopped.
Doncic, 25, then hung his head and covered his face with his hands as he laughed.
“Okay, well, let’s move on,” the reporter said, and other participants in the press conference laughed.
“I hope it’s not live,” Doncic said.
Things evolved after that, and the five-time All-Star explained why the Mavericks won 119-110 over Oklahoma City.
“It was one of the hardest games I’ve ever had to play,” Doncic said after Dallas tied the series at 1-1.
Doncic, who is suffering from a right knee sprain, had 29 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists despite some poor shooting in Game 1.
He scored or assisted on 24 of Dallas’ 36 points in the first quarter.
Mavericks forward P.J. Washington scored 19 of his 29 points in the first half, along with 11 rebounds and four assists.
According to ESPN statistics, Doncic and Washington became the first pair in NBA history to record 25 points, including five 3-pointers, and 10 rebounds in a playoff game.
Mavericks forward Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 17 points in Game 2, winning the game.
It was OKC’s first loss in the 2024 NBA Playoffs.
The Mavericks host the Thunder in Game 3 on Saturday in Dallas.
