INDIANAPOLIS — OG Anunoby suffered a hamstring strain in Friday night’s Game 3 loss to the Pacers, 111-106, and will likely miss the next game, but he is expected to travel to Indy with the Knicks. Tom Thibodeau said.
The coach was vague about Anunoby’s future status, saying he did not know the severity of the strain or his recovery schedule.
However, officials confirmed Anunoby will not be ready for Game 4 on Sunday.
Hamstring recovery is difficult and difficult to predict.
“Our medical team is here, so it makes sense (for Anunoby to be in Indianapolis),” Thibodeau said. “So just keep trying and we’ll see where he’s at every day.”[forAnunobytobeinIndianapolis)”Thibodeausaid“Sojustkeepworkingatitandwe’llseewhereheiseveryday”
Anunoby appeared limping in the third quarter of Wednesday’s Game 2 with a strained hamstring.
He was immediately removed from the third quarter.
In the Pacers series, the Knicks are 26-5 with him in the lineup and 0-1 without him.
“If you get injured during a game, your rehab basically becomes your game,” Thibodeau said. “So lock him in there tight. Get treatments three times a day and keep it going. That’s where he is right now.”
With his 18 rebounds Friday, Josh Hart became the first Knick player since Patrick Ewing in 1999 to record at least 15 boards in consecutive playoff games.

And by Friday, he had covered a total of 44.2 miles on the court in the playoffs, a little more than the New York City Marathon.

He became the first athlete to run the equivalent of a marathon over an eight-game period since distances began being measured.
“It’s there. I mean, I’m feeling pretty good,” Hart said. “It definitely means that once this season is over, for about three weeks, all I’m going to do is eat, drink wine and relax. That’s what I mean.”
Donte DiVincenzo wasn’t in the mood to celebrate his career-high 35 points in the playoffs.
“We took the L. That’s how I looked at it,” he said. “It doesn’t mean anything. We have to be better in other categories as well for the next game. And that’s what I’m going to watch.”
