A 100-foot-tall billboard collapses in Mumbai, India, killing at least 14 people and injuring 75 others.

The authorities said: press trust of india The news agency reported that 89 people had been rescued since the incident on Monday night, and rescue efforts continued on Tuesday morning.

The billboard fell at a petrol station on the outskirts of Ghatkopar due to “strong winds and rain”.

Video posted on social media showed the sign swaying in the strong winds. The roof of the gas station below and many parked cars were flattened by the falling sign.

On Monday night, rescuers began searching for bodies in the rubble, while heavy equipment was working to cut through the metal beams that held the sign in place.

Rescue workers continued Tuesday to clear areas where debris and destroyed cars still remained.

City authorities reported that more than 125 rescue workers arrived at the scene and 32 injured people who had been hospitalized have now been discharged.

He also said police are currently investigating the sign, which was reportedly “illegally erected.”
